On the occasion of the launch of the Bilquis Private School Sports League, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bilquis Private School officially inaugurated the tournament, named the “Bilquis Private School Sports League for Secondary School Students.” The league comprises 30 teams, competing in a group-based format under a points system, with home-and-away matches.
The event opened with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in memory of the late Ms. Habiba Al-Haisami. The Chairman of the Board of Directors then delivered a speech encouraging the participating students and motivating the teams to compete. He reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing ongoing support for sports activities and making all available resources accessible to help students qualify for national teams. He also emphasized the importance of continued training and preparation. Furthermore, he announced that the best player in the league would receive the Golden Ball Award, in addition to various prizes for the participating teams.
During the event, the physical education teacher expressed his gratitude to the school administration for providing a suitable sports environment, including sports facilities and a grass-covered football pitch.
Following the opening ceremony, the teams played an exciting exhibition match between the Bilquis Secondary Schools Team and the Al-Shaab Club Youth Team. The entertaining match ended in a 7–7 draw.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdulrahim Al-Khashai, Director of School Activities in Ibb Governorate; Mr. Fouad Al-Jama'i, Director of Educational Media in Ibb Governorate; and Mr. Ali Rahiman, Director of Sports Activities in Ibb Governorate.
The attendees praised the excellent organization and preparation, emphasizing the importance of sports activities in developing students’ skills, fostering fair competition, and promoting teamwork. They also wished all participating teams success and the best of luck throughout the tournament.
